What is RF microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling combines controlled needle penetration with delivery of radiofrequency energy into selected skin depths. It is used for aesthetic goals such as texture, selected acne scars, fine lines and laxity. Device, settings, depth and operator training matter.

Individualizing treatment

Assessment considers skin type and tone, scar pattern, active acne or infection, tendency to form keloids, pigmentation history, anticoagulants, isotretinoin history, implanted electrical devices and expectations. Darker skin tones can be treated, but post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk requires thoughtful settings and aftercare.

What to expect

Topical anesthesia is commonly used. Redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, crusting, sensitivity or temporary pigment change can occur. Multiple sessions may be recommended; results develop gradually as tissue remodels.

Not a weight-loss treatment: RF microneedling may address skin appearance but does not treat obesity or replace surgical management of substantial excess skin.
